Privacy and analytics
You never need an account to use Segunda Vida. Here is what we store, which services see it, and for how long.
Your garments and photos
When you analyze a garment we store its photos, the AI's description, your corrections, the recommendations and any listing draft. Photos are re-encoded first, which removes hidden data such as the GPS location. They are kept privately: anyone with the garment's private link can open it until you save it to an account, and after that only you can.
Services that receive data
Your photos are sent to Anthropic (Claude, United States) to describe the garment. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person and receives your IP address and browser details. If you share your location, an approximate position (to about 1 km) is sent to OpenStreetMap map servers to find places near you. Your position is never stored.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. If you create one we store your name, your email and a scrambled version of your password. On My garments you can download a copy of your data or delete your account with everything in it.
Analytics
We count steps in the app, such as uploading, getting an analysis or opening an action, with the garment category and the chosen action. Visits are linked by a random code for this browser session, and only if you accept analytics, by a second random code in a cookie for up to 13 months. Analytics never include your name, email, IP address, photos or the text you type, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
Preventing abuse
To limit how many analyses can be run, we keep a scrambled code derived from your IP address and browser session, never the address itself.
How long we keep it
Garments that were never saved to an account are deleted with their photos after 90 days. Saved garments stay until you delete them or your account. Analytics are deleted after 365 days and analysis usage records after 365 days.
Your choice
You have not chosen yet. Until you do, only anonymous counts for this visit are kept.
